Yellow Weather Warning

A yellow warning of rain has been issued for the period 3pm Thursday to midnight with a very wet spell possible in some places.
The risk assessment is currently for a HIGH LIKELIHOOD of LOW IMPACTS.
With saturated ground, renewed flooding of land is possible and run-off will probably lead to road flooding in some areas leading to some transport disruption.
As with most low impact yellow warnings, some very localised incidents of property flooding could not be discounted, especially at this time of year when extensive leaf falls are occurring and after recent environmental storm damage on Monday.

Superb Results Surpassing all Expectations

The corridors of Crumlin Integrated College rang with excitement as the news of this year’s GCSE results were publicised.  This has been an outstanding year for the college culminating in pupils achieving an excellent set of results which are the best in over seven years.

86% of pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades with extremely impressive results attained in most departments, particularly, Single Award Science, Art and Design, Geography, Home Economics (Child Development) and Occupational Studies (Construction) who all achieved 100% A*-C grades. There was much delight from the parents and pupils on Thursday morning as envelopes were opened and results revealed.
Three pupils, in particular, excelled in their exams and are now pursuing their education to higher levels where they will no doubt succeed to even greater heights. Hannah Storey, who was delighted with her A* in Art and Design, Brian Savage, last year’s Head Boy and Stephen Bishop all of whom passed all of their GCSE’s at top grades.
The Acting Principal, Mrs Lynda McGarry, expressed her delight and appreciation at the College’s achievement, “These results further reinforce the quality of the education offered at the College and endorse the high standards of Learning and Teaching at the college. The staff has worked tirelessly to ensure that every pupil achieved their full potential. I wish all of our young people every success for their future careers and hope that they will feel very proud and privileged of the integrated education they received in Crumlin.’
Ms McCann one of the Year 12 parents reflected:
‘Brian’s confidence has grown since coming to Crumlin Integrated College and despite the uncertainties surrounding the school in past years, the teachers never failed to do their best for the pupils. The extra revision classes were extremely beneficial and learning was always encouraged. ‘
Mr Tommy Ross, Chairman of the Board of Governors concluded, “I am delighted with the pupils’ achievements and I would like to pass on my congratulates to them all.  I would also like to thank the staff for their commitment and good work in leading the pupils to these successes.”

 New Beginnings

Two classes of Year 8 pupils entered the College for the first time at the end of August where they had the opportunity to become familiar with their new surroundings. Their first days were filled with tours, timetables, books, information and ice-breakers. What a lot to take in! There were nerves and questions, but new friendships were formed and old acquaintances renewed as pupils made an impressive start.  Each pupil was allocated to one of three “houses” and they now look forward to earning points for their house, striving to win the Robb Cup for Best House at the end of the year
By the end of their first week they had all settled in and were integrating into the friendly, family orientated ethos of the school.

We have a "Good School" - Confirmed!

"In the third follow-up inspection held in March 2014, Crumlin Integrated College was evaluated as Good...A sustaining improvement inspection was conducted in December 2016...CIC continues to demonstrate the capacity to identify and bring about improvement in the interest of all the pupils!"
