… The End of an Era
Special memories of school days shared with Head Boy, JP, and Head Girl, Kerry.Mrs Patricia Calvert joined the school in its early days as a pupil, and since then has given 21 years of service in the school canteen. At school, Patricia recalled many fond memories from school concerts up to meeting her husband – he was in the same class! However, she wasn’t here alone, her twin sister, and younger sister, also attended the school, and later her two sons. Patricia recalls that school in her day was very strict but she loved school and never missed a day in the five years that she was here. Although, she will miss all her friends and the pupils, she is looking forward to travelling in her retirement especially to Castlerock, a place very close to her heart. We wish Patricia every success in her well-deserved retirement and thank her for 21 years of service to the staff and the pupils. Our other well-known dinner ladies, June, Barbara and Rosemary, have almost 100 years of service between them to the school. In fact they, like Patricia, are former pupils of the college. It is interesting to note that some of them also met their husbands at the school. A real dating agency!
