A Fabulous Open Night
The atmosphere in Crumlin Integrated College was electric on Tuesday 17th January as parents and pupils from over 14 different schools packed the College’s Assembly Hall to capacity at the start of our annual Open Night.During her address, Mrs McGarry took the opportunity to inform the audience of the results of our recent sustainability inspection from the ETI, which confirmed that, since 2014, the College has sustained the “good” quality of education provided to all pupils.Mrs McGarry continued with the four reasons why children would love CIC:• The tremendous GCSE results – seven subjects achieving 100% A*-C grades in August 2016 • A massive increase in enrolment – up by 40%• Focused 1-2-1 support available to pupils• The College’s convenient placement in the centre of the village meaning that children do not have to spend long periods of time travelling to and from school on buses. Later, everyone was given the opportunity to participate in a range of interactive classroom displays and talk to the staff and pupils as well as indulging in the culinary delights on offer in the Home Economics department. Members from the CSIE (Crumlin Supports Integrated Education) parents’ support group were on hand to provide support and guidance to prospective parents.Parents were particularly impressed with the GCSE results and the provision in the College for pupils with SEN. One parent commented about the evening, “Your pupils are so well behaved; the new uniforms look amazing!”We would like thank everyone who took the time to visit and, in particular, for their interest in and support for the College.
