Class of 2017 Leavers

On Thursday 11th May, Year 12 pupils, staff and parents gathered together to say, “Farewell”. Mr Acheson welcomed everyone to the occasion followed by Anthony Lynn and Brian who shared with us some of their memories and highlights of the last five years.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the video presentation entitled “A Trip Down Memory Lane”. The video show looked back at the first days of our Year 12 pupils when they had just started their education at the College before finishing with photos of their recent soiree at the Grand Opera House in Belfast.

Hannah Storey and Nick Harris, presented Mrs McGarry with a collage of the “Class of 2017” before she added her own good wishes and farewells to the pupils.

Mr Ross, Chairman of our Board of Governors, and Mr Jamieson then presented our leavers with commemorative certificates before Jason Haylock, Carl Monaghan and Stephen Bishop Crosthwaite encouraged everyone to “Reach For Your Dreams”.

Refreshments were served giving staff pupils and parents a chance to socialise together before we moved out into the glorious sunshine to participate in our annual tree planting ceremony. This year our chosen tree was a Tilia Cordata (Winter Orange) which symbolises vibrancy, happiness, versatility, popularity, strength of character and the resilience of our Year 12 leavers.

The afternoon concluded with everyone saying their “Farewells” and “Good Lucks” for the future.
