Crumlinwealth Games

“The Best Day Ever!” is how one child described the day to his mum!

Friends of Crumlin Integrated College were delighted to hold their annual “Crumlinwealth Games” for the P6 children of local primary schools, Straidhavern, St Joseph’s, Crumlin Integrated PS and Loanends.

The children participated in a broad range of events including golf, rugby, athletics, hockey and netball ending in a very competitive Tug o’ War in which Straidhavern narrowly toppled St Joseph’s.  No sound system was needed to hear the cheers and applause as the children urged their teams to pull the rope!

The rain stayed off long enough for everyone to be treated to a BBQ before medals were awarded to individuals, picked throughout the day by the coaches, and of course for Tug o’ War trophies to be taken back to school for the children to show to their fellow pupils.

Thanks must go to Randox, Darren Clarke Golf Academy and Belfast Rugby Academy and also to the fantastic coaches who helped create such a great atmosphere for the day and to all who took part in making this a special day.
