NISP CONNECT Generation Innovation Night, 2014.

Five Year 12 pupils were given an amazing opportunity to attend the annual Generation Innovation event held in the Ulster Hall, Belfast on Wednesday 12th February.

During the educational visit pupils got the chance to meet founders of local science and technology companies and gain inspiration from speakers, including one exciting business leader, Co Antrim-born Sarah Friar, director of San Francisco tech giant “Square”, who spoke live to the students via Skype. Sarah now works alongside Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of social media website Twitter, who also spoke live to the students.

Pupils also had the opportunity to explore the interactive stalls and booths, which included having plenty of photographs taken - which they all thoroughly enjoyed!

Overall, it was a truly awesome night, inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland!

What is Generation Innovation?

Generation Innovation is run by NISP CONNECT (www.nispconnect/.org), an independent non-profit organisation within the Northern Ireland Science Park.

The initiative seeks to stem the flow of the most talented young people out of Northern Ireland by building networks of the country's best young talent before, during and after their third level studies or initial career choice, who are capable of becoming leading figures in a wide range of industries including engineering, medicine, software, law and languages.

The aim of Generation Innovation is to change the aspirations of Northern Ireland's teenagers, those most likely to succeed in the new economy, to become leading entrepreneurial figures and business people
