CIC was buzzing with the arrival of over 200 P7 pupils from our feeder primary schools: Ballymacrickett PS, Crumlin Integrated PS, Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach, McKinney PS, St Joseph’s PS and Straidhavern PS. The purpose of their visit was to participate in STEM and Creativity Workshops which included: Science – investigating chemical reactions; Home Economics – decorating cupcakes; Technology and Design – examining wood types through a keyring project and PE – creating a trampolining sequence.

Everyone enjoyed a morning of learning and fun at the College where both P7 pupils and staff expressed their interest and delight at the activities.

• “Wow. The Science was amazing – especially the volcano erupting!”

• “I really enjoyed working with real wood and making my keyring”

• “Icing the cupcakes was class! I can’t wait to eat mine!”

• “I was scared to try the trampoline, but once I got going I felt as if I was flying!”

We thank the principals of the primary schools for allowing the pupils to attend. Such interest bodes well for future interest in the College as pupil enrolment continues to thrive.
