The Crumlin Games

The sun was splitting the trees as 207 pupils, along with teachers and staff, from Crumlin Integrated College, St Joseph’s P.S, Crumlin Integrated Primary and Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach, walked to Crumlin Community Centre to participate in “The Crumlin Games” – the final event in our Shared Education Programme for 2016/17.

The very energetic Spartans, a team of local sports’ coaches, were on hand to ensure the pupils had a fun filled day packed with games and sporting activities. Pupils played a number of sports including: tag rugby, football, rounders and some even got to try their hand at archery.

Tesco provided much needed refreshments for the children and many parents turned up to cheer the pupils along. The day ended with a tree planting ceremony leaving a lasting reminder in the community of how our pupils are ‘Working Together for a Brighter Future’. Most importantly, the children were able to build and develop the friendships they have established through the Shared Education Programme.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all that took part in the day especially the members of the wider community who gave up their time to support our Shared Education Programme.
