Thursday the 25th September saw Crumlin Integrated college take part in the World’s biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan cancer society. The prefects and student council spent days baking up a storm and on the day there were cakes and buns to rival any Great British bake off! I might even say we found some future Mary Berrys’ and Paul Hollywoods’. Under the watchful eye of Mrs Mc Cabe the spread looked magnificent and parents and teachers all agreed that they had left a few pounds heavier than when they arrived and their diets were out the window!! A few extras such as “count the sweeties in the jar” provided by Mrs Beattie and how many spots on the cake – provided by the very talented Kirsty Gildea and Jessica Huston added to the efforts to fundraise for this fantastic cause. To add further excitement to the day Mr Jamieson, Mrs Mc Cabe, Mr Armstrong and Miss Corrigan bravely decided to run the gauntlet and face a “soak the teacher” challenge, needless to say the queues were long and we all got well and truly soaked, however it was well worth it as the entire day managed to raise a staggering £400 for a very worthy cause. Congratulations to all involved.
